Our supporters will be delighted to hear that, during this mission, 448 patients were seen and 74 patients were operated on. That is a lot of patients who may not otherwise have received the kind of medical care and attention that we often take for granted – and a lot of patients whose lives will have been immeasurably changed for the better. A mission report will soon be made available on this website – as you can imagine, the team have returned feeling fulfilled but weary, so we will have to give them a little time!
Well done team – and thanks to your families, friends and workplaces for releasing you to go to Kashmir and to Interplast supporters everywhere whose generosity made the mission possible.
Our trustees meeting on 13th February was well-attended, with 3 new trustees being appointed, one of whom is now Secretary!
Charles reported on the mission to Kumi Hospital, Uganda, in October 2014, when more than 70 operations were carried out – which means more than 70 lives changed! It is likely that a team will visit Kumi Hospital again in October 2015.
Charles is hard at work negotiating the next Interplast UK mission, possibly to Pakistan – more details as soon as they are available.
The next meeting for trustees will be on Friday 10th July 2015, which will be our Annual General Meeting – more details nearer the time.
